Grand Trunk Western GP40-2

Using the new GP40-2's from Travel by Train, the Rock Island unit would be a perfect platform for GTW and DT&I repaints. Sure would like that... (hint hint...BUZZ) !*cheers*! P.S. I included the SD40 shot to show the rear end of the unit.

The TBT GP40s are GP40s not GP40-2.

VRC engines 1.jpg
I have posted that I have been waiting for the non-dynamic versions of these locos, for this very reason. I did the attached repaints of the VRC engines when they became available. I will do appropriate DT&I GP-40's soon as I get a chance. Most of my modeling effort has been on building a C&O M-1 Turbine in N-Scale. I will have to take a break from that, and get to work on this. Those look very nice. I am certain your GT versions will look cracking (and would look reasonably ‘at home’ on GT trackage at Kilgore Yard....) Straight non-DB -38s and -40s always look interesting to me, it seems a look I like, as well.

It seems that Buzz is working on the GT version of this engine. I will attempt to start a DT&I repaint soon. I am a bit unhappy this TBT loco has a hood mounted horn. I am a perfectionist, and that is the reason I have never released a repaint. Buzz has commented that this unit is a difficult repaint. Joe

I don't understand your comment. The pictures I am looking at all have a hood mounted horn. The IC one should be perfect except for the bell on the nose.

Oops I meant BELL. I must need more than one cup of coffee! Hood mounted instead of frame mounted.
