Buffalo Creek flour by rail boxcar

Is some one willing to do this repaint of a flour by rail boxcar? The story explains why this is a historic regional piece of railroad history

This model is a Buffalo Creek Railroad reskin of Larry Goss’s awesome freeware American Car & Foundry 40ft 10-6 Superior Door Boxcar. You can download the freeware model here:

http://www.railworksamerica.com/index.p ... k-repaints

The Buffalo Creek Railroad was a terminal switching line established in 1868, to serve the big grain elevators, like Concrete Central and others, in Buffalo, N.Y. All accessed from the St. Lawrence seaway on grain boats. BCK connected with all the major railroads serving Buffalo with 34 miles of waterfront trackage. Between 1952 and 1956, the company acquired 2,000 10’-6” IH boxcars. The BCK provided clean cars suitable for the loading of flour, which were otherwise in short supply.

Run the RW_AssetSetup file to install the model. In the scenario editor the model is listed as: “AAR40ft10-6SD6BoxMT-BCK”. This model is installed into: Assets\MaineLines\ RailVehicles\Freight\Boxcars\AAR40ft10-6SD6BoxMT-BCK. Sounds require that WJSounds be installed and enabled for the route it is used in.

This package is released as freeware. You can do whatever you wish with it EXCEPT make money with its use.

I tried placing this this morning. When viewed far away the textures look like they are overlapped but when viewed close they look normal but the number textures are missing.

Don't know what's causing the issue. Worked fine on my setup. Edit -- Think I can fix the number issue pretty easily.

The EL was from your first link. The second from the Dropbox link. I will try installing one at a time to see what happens. I will wait for the number fix. Thanks.

It's doing that here also. I tried a few other cars of the same model and they don't do that. I'll take a look and see if I can spot anything.

Yeah the numbers bin just needs to be fixed to reflect this one. The other issue is not as obvious. Looking.

OK. For some reason there are two GeoPcDx files in there. You want the one that is -6SDBox. Then when you back out to a great distance at least here the car just not change to the EL car.

Here's an updated file that should repair both issues.

Very nice looking repaint Harry. I reduced the saturation and brightness of the main texture about 50% to create a car the more way I remember seeing them.
