This is something that would be helpful to those many Canadian players (and other international users) who are locked out of otherwise acceptable CN liveries that are locked in the GP9, Dash 9, and SW1500 packs (not to mention the SD70 Volume 2). In research of the first 40 pages of the Engine Repaints section, I found 22 models for the GP9 Loco, seven for the Dash 9, and a few for the SW1500. However, Donner Pass so far supports exactly four repaints. I just got back to 2014, so perhaps I'm just going to start stumbling upon them soon, but it would be nice to have some of the existing repaints developed for the Donner Pass models, not to mention the Canadian liveries. It turns out many of the groups I mentioned also include a Canadian Pacific entry, though none of the packs have an official one.

If anyone is interested in helping fill the gap for those international users unable to get the other packs, this is a good way to do it. And I might not be as salty about not having a switcher option for Golden yard.

I'm not sure I understand. You say you have the SW1500 but you don't have or can't get the CN version of this?

No, I'm saying international users cannot acquire the GP9, SW1500, or the Dash 9, but all three appear - I think with different models - in Donner Pass, making it a more ideal - but rarely used - reskin target. The SD70 Volume 2 is also off-limits, making the NS and CN skins there also unavailable to international users.

Also, I'm familiar with your work, buzz. Been going through the list and see your name a lot.

I still don't quite get it. You're telling me that the SW1500 is not available to people outside the US but Donner pass is? The reason I'm asking is because they are the same models I think looking in the folders.

Outside the US the GP9 and SW1500 packs are not available. Donner Pass route is and it contains a GP9 and an SW1500. The problem, as I understand it, is that all the repaints available use a loco from a one or other pack as the basis. Often a BN, which we cannot access.
What I believe is being requested is that someone does repaints using the Donner Pass locos as the basis rather than one from the packs.

I understand all that. Was hoping to help him out if in fact he has Donner Pass so has the model. In that case I can send him the CN paint for him to use. I wasn't sure if all you outside the US had Donner or not.

So the model is in fact the exact same one between Donner Pass and the pack? For the GP9, SW1500, AND the Dash 9?

In that case, we need reskins based on the locked packs to go with Donner Pass' model. LMAO

And I'm not sure anyone is willing to do that, for obvious reasons.

There is still the problem that some skins use the Rock Island model, some use CN, some use BNSF, etc. So they may not properly work.

Let me test and see if the stock paint works with the Donner model.

By the way, Donner Pass is Southern Pacific, so yes, we all have Donner Pass worldwide. Sherman Hill and Union Pacific are good, as well, but they use ES44AC and SD70 (the latter which might be something to compare to the SD70 Volume 2), as well as an SD40-2 that has a couple of options in the file library. I also found a four-digit numbering of the SW10. The BNSF ES44DC is most assuredly different than the Sherman Hill one.

I'm in Canada, not too far from America in fact. Which means I'm doubly salty, as we see BNSF vehicles here. That's two sets of things I see IRL that I can't drive between BNSF and CN, as the packs containing both BNSF and CN skins are locked in Canada. Then there's the SD75, which has repaint packs for CN but needs the BNSF one as well, and they are the only two major buyers (the third was 6 to Ontario Northland), so I'm not convinced it will come to fruition. LOL

EARLY MORNING EDIT:

So kept looking back through the pages and found an old February 7, 2013 upload of four CN Dash 9 skins, different ones than the one in the Dash 9 pack. Upload ID 145. I now have a definitive test, taking them on a Donner Pass scenario sometime in my future. The irony is that Donner Pass came out a year later, so if they work with that model, that will be fantastic information.
