Illinois Terminal SD40-2

EDIT: Also, the NS IT Heritage unit used the paint and striping from this engine, if that helps.

Good looking locomotive! This SD40-2 is painted for Respondek's Illini Terminal switching railroad. It's home is at the port in Granite City, IL in the St. Louis area. Respondek has brought back the ITC paint job on a number of units.

In addition to the SD40-2, they have a rebuilt GP9 in the yellow ball scheme.

Also, Respondek runs a former Seaboard SDP35 (deturbocharged & rebuilt into SD38-2).

I always liked the ITC. Did a whole fleet of IT units for MSTS that I never released. Even built an SD39 from scratch in TSM. Boy, how I wish I had chosen Blender or 3D Crafter now... :(

Some mapping issues forced me to discontinue the project. I may look at the RSC GP9 as a replacement, but I haven't inspected the textures yet to see what I'm up against. I don't personally have much interest in repainting the SD40-2.

And I used to be a conductor on that line, so I have a definite love of that engine.
