As any of you who have been around here for a long time know I grew up and became a rail fan hanging around the EJ&E which ran next to my house. Well, in poking around last night I discovered that the "J" actually bought and ran the original demonstrators of the Sharks. Sooooo....................

That EJ&E paint looks really sharp. Have you thought about doing a set in the RW&A scheme?

Those do look sharp Buzz!

And I second a repaint in the RWA paint as well. I think they'd look great along side the F7's on that route.

Need help with alpha in blender

Unread postby akshaydbc » Mon Mar 04, 2019 7:05 am

Hi,
Recently I was testing how alpha works in railworks with blender. I used TrainBasicObjectDiffuse.fx shader with alphatestmode enabled(=1) and noticed in railworks that only one face was transparent that is it was using alpha. But there was nothing in back side. Can anyone please suggest which shader to use for alpha?

A dark period in the Sharknose history. This is the livery the last of them were wearing when they were coralled for the scrap yard.
Only two survived, bought and restored by D&H. Those sharks' blue and silver livery was designed on HO models by Mr. Jay Winn and accepted by D&H.
Mr. Winn told me some of this history over e-mails when I purchased his RF-16 sound recordings, and has recently published a book about it:

He also published a picture book in 2015: http://www.lulu.com/shop/jay-winn/delaw ... 33103.html

The two D&H sharks have been rotting away in a hangar for 30 years.

Such a shame. They should be inside a museum at least on static display, if not operational. Such a waist of history to let them rot in a hanger. *!sad!*
