MSTS N&W Class J conversion

Unread postby wopflyer » Thu Feb 28, 2019 12:17 pm

Hello,

I would like to suggest/request that someone convert one of the MSTS N&W Class J model's (There were 2 that I know of.) over to RW. I know that "Luk Rail America" has been working on making a Class J. But that's been in the works for a very long time now with no sign of it being finished that I'm aware of. Just have to search on TrainSim.com for j611.zip and nwj484.zip. Also, there is nwj600.zip and j608.zip. as well.

Thanks for your consideration,
David

I can convert them, but I'm still learning the coding to make them work in Railworks...lol! Wish I knew more.

What do you mean by "coding"?

If you are referring to the physics, I'd base it off something freeware such as the "GN 4-8-4 Northern Steam Locomotive". But contact Rick Grout (ricksan), for permission first. If you ask nicely, you might be able to use the cab from it as well so you don't have to create one from scratch. But no matter which physics you use, they will need to be tweaked to work with the Class J, such as the size, wheel diameter's, coupler position's, etc..

I'm sure there are a few people on here that know how to do the physics, or whatever else you mean by "coding" that could help you.

Thanks for your interest in this,
David
