Why are they releasing a great 50's era locomotive for a modern route? That's like releasing the GG1. If we had 50's era routes for these electrics it would be great. Still that is a beautiful model.

VNHRR Springfield is the obvious target:

"The 1950s were the last of the New Haven Railroad's glory days, and we have tried our best to make you feel like you are really there in that special era in railroading history."

The route + Budd cars + this + the Interurbans (RWA Library) and a ton of BM, NYC, NH, CV and others, make the VNHRR a really good package....

Opening sentence of the article linked above:

Built by General Electric in the mid-1950s and born to haul coal in the Appalachians, a group of 3,300-horsepower electrics – destined to be vagabonds over a quarter-century of service – came to the New Haven Railroad in the summer of 1963 to haul tonnage between New York City and New Haven, Connecticut. And soon, these distinctive electrics – designated EF-4 by the NYNH&H – will be coming to Train Simulator!

Toward its end, the article mentions that "the pack will also include four career scenarios for the NEC: New York – New Haven route".

Still, much of the VNHRR is electrified even though its DLC package doesn't include any electric engines -- seems to me, as well, that this could be the solution.

Bring it on!

Yeah doesn't make much sense to make the EF-4 scenarios be on the NYNH route when the VNHRR has plenty of electrification to run on and it's period correct.

Why only include a reskin of the FRC Box Car? It would actually be appreciated to include a variety.

I see where you're headed, but it would be really out of order to put a boxcar of a completely different railroad into the pack. A lot of the times, DLC only gives you one reskin of a car and puts in a mix of different cars. (Such as DTM and the SP SD45T-2 DLC which will have a mix of freight cars)

Wait, since when did we get SP SD45T-2s? I thought that we just had SP SD45s.

Thank you for that, gtrtroger, how much of the route is under the wires, then, enough to warrant obtaining this electric loco when it gets released by Reppo?
