New release - Metro North Genesis (PC32 AC-DM)

OK, I'm not one of those finicky rivet-counting obsessive mistake-spotting people . . . but from the pictures of this newly released loco, it seems that the US flag is REVERSED on the right side of the cab (stars in the top right instead of the top left).

Isn't it very sad that DTG couldn't get that right? Now I know about the issue of using reversed textures etc, but it can also be worked around with child objects (I can't do it, but know it can be done!) So . . . WTH, DTG?

I'm not American but have lived here for 15 years, and it grates to see that. And to think that DTG didn;t consider it important enough to make it right

I was just about to post the same as 'jwtheiv', it's entirely correct. https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2880/1014 ... 1d7e_z.jpg

Oh dear.

Yes, I'm astonished, but it has since been pointed out to me elsewhere. Also applies to opposite sides on US military uniforms, so I am told. I eat humble pie and apologize profusley to DTG (and have done so on their FB page!)

Having said that, it still seems very odd, and makes no sense to me!

I'm guessing (and it is a guess) that if you "assumed" a flag pole was on the star side then the flag would be "blowing" toward the rear of the train. It's the only thing I can come up with for metro-north to do the artwork like that.

Thanks kndly for your respect for the flag, Chris. With respect to static display of the flag against a wall, the union (star field) should indeed be on the viewer's left, and you comment is absolutely valid in that respect. While not formally codfied (at least not to my knowledge) the accepted practice for display on a transportation vehicle is with the union placed toward the vehicle's designated front end, as though the flag is actually being flown from a staff. It is displayed this way on American Flag carriers in the airline industry, going back to Pan Am's Clippers that I am aware of. Of course, with respect to diesel locomotives, this places the flag backwards in on any trailing units running with the cab to the rear, but it appears this is overlooked because the display on the lead unit is correct.

Funny thing is, a few months ago I reskinned for myself an adaption of an RWA download for a Genesis 40th Anniversary Phase IV reskin. Made several tweaks and imporvements, and "corrected" the flag on the right side of the cab because I thought it was wrong, LOL! Back to the drawing board!

Overall, this DLC was worth the 20 bucks, the only things I can nitpick about are the fact that the bell sound is quiet, and the P32 horn has a gap in the horn loop. The plow seems a little bit too large.

The Shoreliners are great substitutes for NJT comets, being pushed or pulled by AEM-7s that sub for ALP-44's.

I just rode in a Dash 9 for 200 miles. The quietness of the bell is entirely accurate. If you really wanna hear it, crack open the window.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I don't seem to have electrical power available inside Grand Central?

EDIT: It become available after I left the platform, would it be available at the platform IRL or do they use diesel at the platform?

What about the sound? Is it copied from P42DC, or something new?
