only 45? you lucky devil it was 49 here yesterday I put a bucket of water out for my dogs and it started boiling from the heat coming off the concrete

The variations I've got planned for the package are:

- All black
- Black with white striping (tyres, runboard egdes) and chrome (boiler jacket strap ties, etc.)
- Greyhound (gray/black/gold)

I'm also going to include the ability to make the smoke deflectors and/or the Mars light disappear by putting an "X" in a specific position in the vehicle number code when you place the locomotive in a scenario.

Hmm a FaceBook lurker. What does that say? And on top of it making fun of others. My family and real friends spend a lot of time on Farcebook since we are separated by geography.. Not so much sharing recipes but activities.

Even though that headlight glare effect might not be 100% realistic, I like the look of that more than the Lens-Flare styled glare that I've seen so far.

I'm going to play around with the parameters a bit though - I think you can set it up so that it changes size with the viewing distance. There are an infinite number of variations that can be made, so later, when I have time, I'll try some of them out.

I've been doing some performance tests. There seems to be something strange about the way T.E. is used in the sim.

I did a speed trial on Pacific Surfliner with 25 lightweight UP cars (56 tons each) and reached 44.5mph on the flat. It ought to be able to reach 100mph. That's a factor of 2.25.

I did a similar test with the Challenger and got much better performance. According to Wikipedia, Challenger's real-life Starting T.E. is 97,350 lbf (433.03 kN. However, examining the simulation files, I saw that it's been given a total of 220,000lbf, a factor of about 2.26 - coincidence?

Maybe the T.E. in RW is borked! I'm going to try increasing the FEF's by a factor of 2.25, but only in the engine sim file, not in the wheelslip scripting (where I've done all the calculations in accordance with the real-life figures and appear to get a very realistic wheelslip behaviour).

Has anyone else found something like this with T.E.?

If it turns out that it really is necessary to increase it by a factor of 2.26, I'll include that fix in the next update of the Consolidation (after doing some more, extensive field tests, of course).
