I couldn't be happier we finally have an SW1200 up to TS19 standards graphically. That said, the control stand seems very dark compared to how it looks in the manual, but maybe that's just the route I've been running it on. Also, the headlight from in the cab has a dim and bright look, but from the outside they look the same. Does the independent brake stick at 20% have to do with the default brake difficulty setting? Anyway, very happy DTM did this, I love the SW1200, and I too look forward to the repaints!

It is a little dark, just turn on the cab light to help see. And yes the 20% on the independent represents the ability to bail off the loco brakes.

In regards to the sounds, I left the engine sounds, but I changed the horn and bell to the Searchlight Simulations Nathan P3 and EMD steel bell

The cab light doesn't help, the stand is still dark. What do you mean about "bail off the loco brakes"?

When you put a set on the automatic brakes, it sets the brakes on everything in your consist including your engine. When that happens it stops your train suddenly, but usually you will want to come to a nice controlled and precise stop. To do this, we bail off the independent which releases the brakes on the engine and keeps the set on your cars. This allows you to throttle up and drag your consist until you come to where you want to stop. You should have enough air so that when you close the throttle, you come to a nice and easy stop.

This has been the hardest thing to get a feel for and learn as a student engineer. Too much air and I stall out, not enough and I don't the brakes to stop my train and then I have to compensate at the end. The last few days I've been getting better, but I still have a ways to go until I'm as good as our engineers

Thanks for the explanation, I had never really understood what bailing off was meant for. Sounds useful when approaching a stop signal or station platform etc.

Yes, sounds could be a little better, and the physics could use a little tweaking, but I'm confident our RWA community will rise to the occasion and address these minor issues. Overall, DTM did a nice job on this little switcher. The modeling and texturing are good, and it has the look / feel of a SW1200. Plus, I'm looking forward to a spat of repaints to come out of Buzz's Paint Shop! BTW... I left a thumbs up review on Steam.

I wish DTM would tell us what other roads they might be considering so none of us step on their toes with stuff they might have in the works.

I see a Milwaukee Road and a CNW on their FB page. He said he was going to do as many as he could with DTG licenses. That should at least give us some clues.

I agree on the controller. Here's a simple work around just unzip and paste. Maybe when I get a chance if they don't fix it I can turn the panels green later but in the meantime.......Just paste this into the texture folder. If you don't have it unpacked it won't ask you anything. If you have it unpacked it will ask if you want to overwrite. Say yes.

Hmm.. I'm not able to convert the hood texture file to DDS. It just acts like it's taking forever to load and then the RW Tool shuts down. Anyone else encounter this issue.

It worked for me, I’m a bit confused in the bin file but no problem with the texture.

I opened it with RSBin tool. Does anyone know if RWTools works OK with a 4096x4096 template because that is what it is.

Finally got it to work, I just let it sit and think about it and it finally opened. I'll try RSBin Tool next time I have an issue with converting texture files.

I like the all black, Buzz. What's first up on your repaint agenda so we aren't all painting the same thing!

I looked on Mike's website and if you have the latest version of RWTools it will in fact open these large format files. The only re-paint I have planned right now is a MRL one.

I sent DTM a message on Facebook, he said these are some of the repaints he's working on: PRR, Reading, MILW, BN, GN, ATSF, C&O, CNW, SP, NH, EL, NW, PC, CN
