Yeah - that's been a bit of an issue here in Baltimore with some of the new developments going up near the port and railyards.

CSX quoted the city about 400K to upgrade the crossing to a quiet zone.

And minerman I completely respect you and your opinions, as a hardcore NJT fan and regular commuter of the North Jersey Coast Line I'm torn that one side of the route is modern and the other one is backdated to the 1970s. If Secaucus were absent recreating NJT runs on the NY Division Bergen Line route, then I will have to run express on where Secaucus should have been.

OpenRailer90 - Torn! I am torn! So far I have built modern and continue to do so. As of right now, I the track leading to Allied Junction in place. I hope more NJT guys chime in and beat this to death. And yeah hardcore NJT guys carry weight with me.

In the 1976 version your next stop East of Rutherford, would be Harmon Cove and you would run right past Croxton.

Lastly, it would be nice if some of the EL guys would weigh in here. I have one known ex-EL employee, another fellow who worked at Dubois Chemical in East Rutherford, my father(ex-EL) and me.

I am done hijacking this thread as we all wait for the NJSL to be released. If anyone wants to keep the discussion going post here viewtopic.php?f=31&t=13875

That screenshots certainly does look like anywhere between Matawan and Long Branch. Looks like it will come with Comet V trailers.

It's all good; the discussion did pertain to NJT so that can pass.

I also took a look to compare the real Comet V and the TS2015 Comet V:

They look close, the DTG Comet V has an inaccurate looking gangway and a horn that seems a tad too big, but that can pass.

Minerman146, whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll come up with something, either way, in this community, as you can see, you can't please everyone. All the work you put into anything, someone will always find something to nitpick about. I think people forget that this is a train simulator, and not a landscape sim.. we've got folks that will basically worry about a screw that isn't bent out of place at a particular milepost.. and the sad part is, that's probably only a slight exaggeration.

I've had the opportunity to play your route, and it looks great, thought I have no experience on it. Whatever era you choose to place the route in, I will enjoy it all the same. As well as everyone else who isn't taking the time and effort to create something good for others to enjoy. Keep up the fantastic work, Sir!

Actually, it's just south of Newark Penn. The PATH layover tracks are on the left.

Thanks for the correction. It certainly looks tons better than the same section on the old NEC 4 years ago.

Well OpenRailer, before you continue your "picking of nits" all over the forum, let alone this thread, you may want to check your source before complaining about something. Doing a whopping 3 second google image search turned up this photo:

Image
If you take the time and compare it to the photo from DTG above, clearly the gangway is modeled correctly on the engineers side and "conductors" side. Also judging by this photo, the horn doesn't seem to large. That's just looking for something to complain about. If you really want to get down to the nitty-gritty, the Comet V trailers don't seem to be modeled. The one photo with the F40 a few pages back shows a string of Comet V cabcars. One can tell by the lit number boards on the upper sides of the car. The Comet V trailers don't have them lit on the side.

That being said, this route, and the selection of brand new DLC were getting with it, will be a great addition!

I meant to say that the canopy (the black rubber belt around the door) is inaccurate to the prototype. Other than that the Comet V cab car is a generally accurate model. Regarding the Comet V trailers, they appear to be only assigned to the Hoboken division. I am unsure if they are assigned to the NJCL, but I know they're common on the Bergen Line.

According to this video the Comet V trailers have a different side profile compared to the cabs: http://youtu.be/yJah6Hoyqno

Imagine those Bergen Line Beauties right here on the recently reworked HX DRAW!

Just needs some Metro-North variants for the Comet V for some extra realism in the mix ;) When the NJCL comes out will the ATC script used be installed to the Bergen Line?

Tell me about the "ATC" script. I don't know what that is.

Update: I think I know what its not: CTC. ATC must be the traffic control system that is installed on the NYNH. 1. Can I integrate ATC on the Bergen. 2. Does this change signaling 3. Do I need to place sensors ? 4. Has anyone done this yet?
5. What are the steps involved.

Update 2: doing more research - I would need to re-signal the mainline and Pascack with NYNH signals apparently (The cab signals only work with the signals in NYNH route)
