Package Manager vs Reality

Unread postby miata54 » Sun Oct 13, 2013 9:26 pm

I've just returned to RW after a long hiatus and was greeted with an "update" called RW2014. Overall, it was an uneventful update with one exception. My previously purchased Big Boy was no where to be found. I purchased it through Steam back in the days of RW 2012 so I thought it would be included in my update. Well, it is and it isn't. It appears nowhere in any menu I bring up but it is listed in the Packager Manager and also in the Assets folder under IHH. I would just like to know if anyone else has run into this scenario (no pun intended)!

Thanks

I still have the original in assets\IHH and the RSC one that I purchased with the update in Assets\RSC\BigboyPack01. All the stuff is still there. If it's not in your folders I suggest verify cache.

Miata, where are you looking for the locomotive? It may not show up on your Collection screen (my collection screen only shows about 1/2 of what I own) You may have to look in Drive By Engine to find it.

Thanks guys. You were right Arizonachris. Looking in the wrong place. Found it at Cajon Pass in the "Drive" folder. Interestingly, there is no pic of it. Just a white on black loco silhouette that looks like a diesel. Does your install show a pic?

Quite a few loco's, engines and even routes for me show a "ghost" image instead of a thumbnail of what the item should look like. Been like that since TS2013 actually. Not sure if it's because this stuff is third party but kinda seems like it.

They need preload folders made for them.

I know in Flightsim I can easily make a thumbnail of the aircraft to show on the loading screen by using a screen shot utility. Could the same process be appplied with RW2014?
