So, has the update overwritten Krellnut's wagon sound files? I have run a couple of scenarios and the wagons are pretty much silent. Is it safe to just install his sound files again?

I read on the Steam/ RW Forum that someone over there had to reinstall his Krellnut sounds, Phil. After that they worked fine.

Just reinstall V2, and all cars that use the Kuju folder will work again.

Thanks. Will do. It's just not the same "sim" without those wonderful wagon sounds!

So far I've just had to reinstall the sounds etc for Krellnut's sound pack into the default kuju folder and copy over some but not all DLCs "Wagon Audio" folders from my backups.
Krellnut's actual Wave Files are still in the original folders, but the necessary .bin and proxyxmls aren't there to draw off the "WJ Sound" folder in "Assets" .
Copying over the audio folders from my backup to the "Rail Vehicle" audio folders for each route worked like a charm, and not all routes and DLC were affected.
As far as engines... I've had to reinstall Simmer4's sound pack in my default SD40-2 audio folder first, then the SD40 sounds in my Donner Pass etc SD40s.
If a person tries to copy the SD40 sounds over from a backup into a DLC without first putting the Simmer4 files into the Kuju audio folders, the proxyxml files don't seem to have anything to draw off of.
It's weird, the .wave files for custom sounds are all still there in their respective folders but not the .bin and proxy files.

So far I have noticed:
- faster loading
- runs smoother
- lots of crashes when using quick drive
- P42DC Genesis disappeared
- irritating jumping menu icons
I owned TS2012 then upgraded to 2013 and now upgraded to 2014
Could deleting everything and downloading from scratch get rid of the crashes .?
All in all I like it but nned to get rid of the crashes.

Yes, Cardinal, a fresh start could do your Railworks good.
Simply rename the Railworks folder inside Steam/SteamApps/Common into Railworks_old and let Steam spool in a fresh copy when you click on Play Railworks, or do a verify cache from your Steam Library Window.
Once it has downloaded and is complete after a few subsequent verifications, you can run either the new Railworks or your Railworks_old alternatingly.
Make up your mind as what you really want to install in that new Railworks and use the original install packages whenever possible. It's best to do this by hand and not let any installer overwrite those fresh default routes or assets. Do only one route at a time and make sure you can open that route in the World Editor before adding rolling stock or scenarios.
Then proceed to the next route, and so on.
Due to the way default Kuju and RSC assets have been moved into new packages and .ap archives, best leave any light or sound enhancements alone for the time being.
Wait for their authors to provide new install packages or instructions. Krellnut is already at work with his sound packs, but many locomotive repaints and lighting enhancement packs still have to be sorted.
Core assets folders like ScaleRail that are used by many routes and are known to be self contained and reported to work properly can be copied from your Railworks_old folder.
When everything is to your satisfaction, you can zip or rar that Railworks_old and move it out of the Steam application.
Good luck.

Thanks for all the advice !
Just noticed I posted my Q in a wrong thread. I did not mean to hijack anything. Perhaps a moderator can fix it.
