Pick up general freight?

I've seen this 2 times (Cajon Pass and I think the other was Industrial Interactive v 4) so far in the work order list and am kind of confused. I thought there would be some wagons to pick up, but no. But I found if I go back and forth once for each car it seems to work sort of. For instance the Cajon Pass "A grand day cutting" I tried moving forward out of the siding and it said I failed task #5, but the scenario kept going. I finished task #6 by going back and forth 6 times until I got the go ahead to move on to task #7, but #6 didn't show it was finished. Keep in mind there are 25 tasks in this scenario (That came with the EMD SW1500). I also notice a (6x) in the task, which I guess means how many wagons I'm coupled to?

Is this how it's supposed to be? Or am I missing something?

"Pick up general freight" is RSC generic language for loading. Look more carefully at the instruction, which ends with "from Oro Grande Loader 1 @ Oro Grande Siding 3".

That's another thing, I did try clicking on the load/unload button and nothing happened.

More information needed: what kind of freight cars are involved? Are they to be loaded or unloaded? What does the loader look like?

In order to be loaded or unloaded, a car has to be positioned correctly: centered on the loader on the correct track. With some loaders, the load/unload button (assuming you refer to the one in the F4 HUD) doesn't work; try T (load) or shift+T (unload) instead. In some cases, the car and the loader are mismatched: this is the scenario writer's fault, not the player's, of course.

I'm not really familiar with the "A Grand Day Cutting" scenario, But Cajon Pass was one of the earliest RSC routes and its scenarios contained a number of errors, as though the company's scenario writers weren't familiar with the editing techniques yet. If your problem persists, I'll take a look at the scenario and see if I can directly diagnose the problem.

I think I know what's wrong, kind of. I installed the Cajon Pass Enhancement Pack With Superelevation and I think it screwed up the original route I bought from Steam. Here is an example of what happened (no cranes, containers, and I think there is supposed to be water here too). I hope there is a way to reinstall the original route again and I'll stay away from the enhancement pack, which is found here... viewtopic.php?f=30&t=6422

This enhancement pack should not overwrite your original Cajon Pass route: it should create a new copy of it.
Try on the original version.

There is no more original version. I even opened up Utilities and uninstalled the Superelevation version and it still shows up on the list, but when I triede to load a scenario the sim crashed. Also the original Cajon wasn't in the list in Utilities. What now? Can I download the original from Steam again?

You can verify the game files thru Steam, which will reinstall and missing or damaged files; but that will also erase any other mods you have installed (sound, physics, etc.)
