IHH Dome and Baggage Cars

Should I assume the IHH Dome and Baggage cars that used to come with the Challenger are no longer available anywhere? I am trying to determine if I should leave their repaints out of scenarios in COA ver. 5.

Are they different from the ones that came from RSC? That Challenger is still available.

I don't see them listed with the Challenger v2 pack. Neither is the 2-8-0 that came with the original.

It just occurred to me to see what's in the US Loco and Asset Pack. The description includes "assorted freight and passenger wagons." AFAIK the only KRS/RSDL/RSC/DG passenger cars that are not otherwise part of a route package are the ex-IHH UP cars. Since I have the time, I'll check with them and report back what they have to say about it.

I bought the Challenger a little while ago and it came with the UP lightweight cars (chair, baggage and dome).

IIRC, the C&O passenger cars (Coach, Dome, and Baggage) were repaints of the IHH UP LtWt set. Maybe the Coach was a Kuju repaint. But the colors were not correct. Instead of the true TriColor "Blue, Yellow and Grey" bands, they had a yellow letterboard, blue window strip and yellow skirtboard. Not very prototypical, any who. Buzz or XDriver did a set of repaints of the G-TraX Ltwt passenger set (or was it Britkits), both smooth and ribbed sided, in the correct colors that would be more appropriate to include with the COARW v5.0 assets set, IMHO.

That's where I'm headed; just wanted to make sure I'm on the right track.

edit: (Hey, no puns intended, lol.... did I really use TWO RR references there?!... little doubt where I grew up, huh? LOL)

Just as a promised follow-up, DTG Support confirms that the UP cars are not available in either the US Loco and Assets Pack, nor in the current Challenger Pack.

I tried asking that a while back. Reading through their boiler plate and horse hockey, RSC's answer amounted to "we have no idea". My guess is that this confusion emerged from their habit of including the same cars & carriages with a variety of engine DLC packs and then changing the overall file structure several times without taking notes in advance. On top of all that, some brilliant chap threw everything into the AP combination meat grinder and stew pot (they "saw it on TV" and couldn't resist?). Perhaps you can get them to cough up a different hairball, Phil?!?

Well, Prof, it seems this time they played it straight, no jazz, "We have looked into this on your behalf, we can report that they are not available in the US assets pack or in the new Challenger pack." The only other thing in their note, apart from thanking me for having contacted them, was a request that I respond to the note if I had further questions about the subject, as opposed to following it up with a new support ticket.
