The Steam cloud syncs your stats and whether you have completed scenarios or not for the stuff you have acquired through Steam. It will not do that for 3rd party stuff. It should allow you to keep your stats if you play from multiple machines.

Anything you purchase through Steam should automatically be re-downloaded if you need to reinstall for any reason. The back up function under the properties menu will only back up content acquired through Steam. 3rd party content will need to be backed up manually.

If you can set up an external hard drive, just backup the folder "SteamApps" to it (I do this automatically every Sunday night). If you have to re-install anything, you can just copy it back from that backup location.

"He who laughs last probably did a backup."

I would try to get a bigger hard drive and just back up the railworks folder. My railworks is 104GB by itself, nevermind all of the other games in the steamapps folder.

Mike's RWTools does a great job in backing up the necessary RW folders. Fastest backup I have seen. If you havent already got it, it is the best $10 or so you will spend on this hobby :D

!*cheers*!
