When looking at the Marketplace items on the Steam Store (Which is my preferred purchasing place) I notice a message saying.

*NOTE* This pack is available in the in-game store under the Marketplace tab. You are strongly recommended to find the product there and make your purchase from within the game.

What is the point of this?

I still buy my stuff in the Steam window outside of the game, it works perfectly fine, no reason for me to change it.

As do I. Works perfect.

Sounds like they opened a new selling approach (sort of like a branch store) and just want folks to use it. I've bought DLC both inside and outside the sim and haven't noticed any difference. The choice is still up to the buyer.

Maybe one doesn't have the Steam markup?
