This is Why I'm not as happy as I could be with 2014 (Work Around)

Things like lighting issues on Donner.
I hardly ever drive it since the update to TS 2014 because of lighting issues.
Admittedly this is a more extreme example, with a flabbergastingly low FPS of -15.

This is with an i5 3570k and a GTX 660.

All I can surmise is higher in elevation Donner is experiencing a solar flare. But seriously,it surprises me how many times there seems to be an issue that is related to a certain route.

It happens with GTX cards when TSX is off. I get that as well if I switch TSX off, on every route, not just Donner. With TSX on, everything looks fine. I have a GTX 590, by the way.

No, this is with TSX on. I like weather in my scenarios.
I've tried different settings and I'm far from minimum specs.
I also know I'm not the only one. I've heard others complaining about this.

This is near the end when a person gets to Colfax.

Looks like the same issue some of us were having with light inside tunnels a while back. IIRC, that was an issue with shaders? Is this the same route? And just this one scenario?

Well, I've isolated it to the enhanced headlights on the S.P. engines.
The workaround is to copy the DonnerPass/Railvehicles/Diesel/ folders from a TS 2013 backup, into either the "external" folder structure of TS 2014 like we are doing with some mods, or opening the DonnerPassAssets.ap folder with 7-Zip and "copy to" the same folders into the RailVehicles folder and letting it overwrite the Diesels.

The easiest way is to copy the DonnerPass/RailVehicles/Diesel folders from 2013, into the DonnerPass folder as an external folder tree.
Then delete the DonnerPass/BluePrint.pak folder before exiting windows explorer.
