I've never run Steam in the "offline" mode. So I don't know, is there still a Steam Icon in the Windows Tool Bar? (lower right hand of the Windows Desktop by the time and date) That is where you would see the "little dots" when Steam is downloading something from the Workshop. But, being offline, I'm surprised you can even see the Workshop items. And you certainly couldn't install them.

That screen with the three trains is the Main Menu for TS2014. You should see several square "buttons" with Drive, Career, Collection, Engine Driver, Build and Shop. There is also Settings and Exit Game. If all you are seeing is the pics of the trains, then something is wrong, maybe with your graphics settings on your PC. Click on Drive, or any other "button", and another screen appears with more selections. (images of these pages are on Google Images, just search "TS2014 Main Menu screen)

As for Football Manager, if you can get to it in your Steam Library, right click and choose Properties> Updates tab> under Automatic Updates in the dropdown box (arrow) select "do not automatically update this game". Or like a lot of us here did before TS updated to 2013 or 2014, we copied the entire Railworks game folder to another location out of Steam. Create a shortcut from that separate .exe, and play the older version without the updates.

On the Settings page you can see all the keyboard key functions. Yes, I use keyboard/ mouse. Mouse also controls the levers in the F4 HUD at the bottom of your screen. This begs the question, have you even been able to drive a train yet?

Hi again,

I have Steam on all the time now. I have seen no 'little blue' lights.
As for the Main screen... when I click on the 'Green' subscribe button in the workshop I then run TS 2014. I wait until I have the screen with all the buttons. I click on 'Collection' and then 'Workshop subscriptions- 2 panes appear. In the left one is a list of what I wish to download. I just selected 'Autumn Evening' 'Next'. Went to the first screen with 3 train (not the mail screen. Now I have adverts from Steam and no way out as I can see. I can see a basket... Facebook etc plus the adverts and no way out.. I have a message '1 new item in your inventory. Went to Library, clicked to see what it is and guess what... nothing there.
I think I'm just to stupid for this game. I have nothing in 'collection' unless I'm in Steam mode. Why can't I play offline and have everything?
I hope I've been clear to you.

I truly am so sorry to be a pain to you.

And no... Not driven a train yet.

The items in the left pane on the Workshop Subscription screen you are seeing are the items that should already have been downloaded and installed. But since you are just now running Steam and TS2014 online, those items may still not be installed. The screen with the three trains and the adverts is the TS loading screen. There is no way to exit that screen until TS loads, then you can Exit. The fact that nothing appears in Collection unless you play online is just how the game works. Not much you can do about it. TS stores a lot of data in the Steam "Cloud" and the game needs to read that data.

Try this. Start TS2014. Once it loads, select Drive. Then Standard or Career. Now you can choose to drive by route or drive by engine. You should now see all the routes, engines and scenarios that are available. I don't use the Collection screen because it doesn't work right. For me it doesn't even show 1/3 of what I have installed.

Sorry it's not working for you yet. I hope you do get it figured out.

My friend thank you again.

I'll try when I get home later. What's the time difference for use? I'm CET + 1.

I really want to drive Donner pass in free drive I think it's called. I tried TS 2013 once and it was hard. Any easy US routes you know please say. That goes for trains and scenery too.

Shame we don't have 'Team Speak' on here. I used it on my FSX forum and it was really great to speak to so many people at one time.
