Looking for headout views for American diesel cabs

Unread postby Tuddley3 » Sun Mar 30, 2014 4:42 am

Does anyone have the coordinates for headout views for SD40's, GP9's, and ES44 cabs. Some locos that come with routes such as Marias Pass have messed up headout views, and I want to make them like default cabs.

Thank you

I found some of the files I need to modify in the Route Building Tool tab in RW-Tools. As you can see in my 1st, attachment the UNSELECTED files bin files at the top show where the engines should be located. When you look at the 2nd attachment, there is no Diesel folder as it shows in the 1st attachment. I'm sure if I could open the headout bin file and copy the headout coordinates from other SD40/ES44 I could fix the problem. Why can't I see them?

Those "missing" engine blueprints are actually compressed and inside archive files with an ".ap" file extension.
For example, all Kuju\RailsimulatorUS assets are inside this file:
Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailsimulatorUSAssets.ap

This is actually a zip file, so you can open it with tools such as 7zip. Or you can open them with RW-Tools.
There are lots os posts here about this, do some searching around.

Once you open the engine blueprint, for example the es44ac one, you will find a link to the headout camera file, like this:
RailVehicles\Diesel\ES44AC\Black\CabView\ES44 Headout Camera.xml

The file is actually ES44 Headout Camera.bin, because it is compressed into a binary file. Open this with RW-Tools, and you will find the values you are looking for.
