SUCKER PUNCH BY STEAM

Unread postby davedingler » Sat Mar 22, 2014 10:43 am

Just visited the Store from TS 2014 start page and selected the Donner Pass special for $10.99. Went to check out and the billing was 39.99! I thought, well they will put in the discount at check-out. No Deal- still $39.99

Needless to say, I cancelled.

SOME SALE!

The sale is on "Train Simulator 2014: Steam Edition", NOT DONNER PASS BY ITSELF. To get the discount, you need to purchase the full game. For $10 bucks, it's worth it. :D

Not trying to start a fight, but I do think Steam is indeed having some problems. For example in the in game store the Southern Pacific SD-70 is on sale for $10.99 with a 80% discount, but shows the old price as $54.99: I love SP material but I know I never paid $54.99 for it. There are some other issues yesterday on the Steam website as well. I think this March Madness sale is solely being centered around a "package" of DLC and discounting the game itself. The regular TS websites have a better explanation of what is on sale.

Once again yes the sd70m was not $54 but ts2014 was and ts2014 is on sale for 10.99 and it includes the SP Sd70m

Why not ask if someone has already bought it? Say someone like me?

Here is what my receipt said:
You sent a payment of $10.99 USD to Valve Corp.

This was all I was charged, and I received the items in the package which I did not already own (in fact it tells you this when you check out).

Any more complaints and this thread gets locked.

Donner Pass has been out for quite a while and I imagine that several people already have a copy. why would I need to ask who has bought it. This looked like a good time to buy at 10.99. My bitch is that going through all the hoops the quoted price at check out was the regular price. I would expect to see the sale price calculated at the enc of the transaction when payment is made.

If you consider this a complaint, go ahead and lock the post, I've gotten it off my chest!

I will not debate this any further.

Here is the official response on Steam by DTG dated March 21st of 2014.

I believe you can post your concerns and complaints on that page.
