I HATE MY PC's RIGHT NOW!

Has anyone ever spent a couple months collecting a couple hundred gigabytes worth of Railworks DLC, Then have it lost in 30 seconds?
Well That just happened to me, My old Windows XP computer, which I was installing the DLC on, Froze then crashed, Deleting all my DLC with it, and Railworks, and pretty much everything on my External Hard drive, But the folders are still there and I am getting these error messages " Error 80070091: The Directory is Not empty" and "This File is no longer located in F:\."
Can someone give me some help, coz this is the Third time in a row that it has happened to me, An I am sick of it.

Will XP start at all? Or do you just get those error messages? This could be a bad hard drive, or a corrupted Win XP install. If files were open and you were saving to them when the crash happened, they may be lost. For the external hard drive, I would see if it's accessible on another computer. Unless you were writing (saving) to it when the crash happened, it may be OK.

XP is getting really old. Crashes like this are more and more likely to happen. If you lost the main hard drive, or the XP install is corrupted, I would look into getting Win 7. (along with a new drive). You can try a Repair of the XP install, if it still won't start, but you must have the XP install CD.

Luck doesn't really have a lot to do with computers. Heat, age, component failure, static electricity and Windows just deciding it doesn't want to work is more like it. *!!wink!!*
