New Computer to run RW, what do I need?

Unread postby Antwerp » Tue May 28, 2013 11:17 pm

Here is what we have. We don't want to spend a fortune too. The class my dad'ss building this in will only cost of 200 dollars instead of about 800.

Motherboard: ASUS P8H77-M/CSM LGA 1155 Micro-ATX Motherboard

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570 Quad-Core 3.4 GHz CPU

Memory: 8GB DDR3 12800 MHz Memory

Hard Drive: 1TB Hard Drive Upgrade

Optical Drive: 24X DVD-RW Optical Drive

Power Supply: ThermalTake TR2 430W Power Supply

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Video Card (Graphics Card): Intel HD Graphics 4000 *Built into CPU*

Pixel Shader: DirectX 11, Shader 5.0

Will this all run RW on Highest Detail along with TSX with no lag?

The basic specs look good, but you'll run into issues with the on-board Intel graphics.
You should be looking at something along the lines of a Nvidia GTX 650ti or better card for your graphics.

That power supply is cutting it a bit close as well.
Do to heat and noise considerations, I'd try to swing a larger 600 watt supply.
Thermaltake is a good supply though. I have a Thermaltake 850 watt Smart Series, modular supply and love it.
(Yes it's overkill, but I got it during a flash sale at a local electronics supply for less than $100 and it runs really cool and quite)
New build. i7-7700k, MSI Z270 Gaming M5 Mobo, Hyper 212 Evo, Corsair DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM, Klipsch Pro Mediea 2.1 Speakers, Samsung 850 Evo SSD, HAF XM Case, Asus Strix GTX 1070 and Cooler Master Storm XT Keyboard.

I agree with Eric altho I ran a GTX550 Ti for quite a while successfully not quite wide open on the settings.

That's actually true. I mentioned the GTX 650ti because it's in the same price range, but significantly more powerful. The 650ti is close to a GTX 560 in fact. :D

OK to start off (not to bump) !*roll-laugh*!

My mom's pc motherboard went dead on her, It's dell and that pc suck. My bro tried to fix and he couldn't soooo I had a discussion with my mom if I can save enough money to buy me a new pc and she can have mine. She agreed. So Got alot of money to save now and if possible I can find a pc with Nvidia Geforce i5 or i7 Gaming pc or not, depend how I can find it. My niece can have my video card when she gets a new pc. She really like BF3. !*cheers*!

So happy hunting for me. I'll have my bro to find me a good pc when I have money but right now just wanna chill out looking for one myself. If any of you guys know about good pc? would be appreciated to find one. He also said Intel is better, AMD just over heats, the fans kept it cool but my concern is the video card. !*don-know!* Peace out!

If you build it from scratch it will save you a bunch. The other thing is to watch for close outs ant Staples or Office Max or some such and then modify it to what you want.

Building is kind of hard for me. But I did find a nice one that I need.

No. That GT620 is a low end card. Might as well use onboard. That card only costs $50, and it's a half height card that shares system memory. A nice GTX 550Ti or 560Ti would be a nice card. CPU, board, RAM and hard drive look OK. Kinda expensive, tho. I could put that together under that price with the better video card. That GT620, everything will be on low, no TSX.

Just found that out on youtube. I still gonna use my high end Geforce 55Ti Gddr5 1gb. That old GT620 had VGA and DVI. Not suitable for me.

Video card. Everything else looks good. The GTX 550Ti and 560Ti are really nice cards.

Personally, I would see if I could get Win 7 64 bit instead of Win 8. Have to learn a new O/S so soon. Not for me, thanks.

Hold on a minute here. I'm answering two different posts. One from Antwerp, one from CSX.

Antwerp needs a video card, like Eric said. GTX560Ti is a nice, resonably priced card. Yes, get at least 600 watts for a PSU.

CSX is the one I answered in my post above.

Whew!

My dad seems to wonder how the 430 watt power supply makes any difference on the game than a 600 watt. Would somebody care to explain how it works.
