No Show

Unread postby ArcticCatZRT » Fri Sep 21, 2012 8:19 am

Alright this moring I was on my computer on looking at some forums. All of a sudden my screen gets all distorted, my screen looked like shutters, but not the whole screen. Then after a few seconds the screen went blank, and my LCD TV showed "no input". So I tried opening up the laptop to see if I could get a picture on the computer itself, but still a no show. I had to do a hard restart and as of right now everything is fine.

Could it be the RAM, GPU, Drivers, or just a random occurance. I am almost looking at the random occurance because every once and awhile I will get a random error, that never show its face again, such as a BSOD error code. Maybe I am just being optimistic.

Thanks guys for the help!

Next time you get a BSOD, write down the error code and Google it. You might find some help on it.

Thanks for the advice, but this error did not have a BSOD error associated with it. Windows didn't even recognize the issue. I actually have a progarm to not only show the error code, but also to deciefer what is causing the issue. !!*ok*!!

That sounds like what happened when oneof my nVidia boards blew out. Except mine burned the slot a little and never came backon.

Cat, do you have a cooler pad for that laptop? Heat is the #1 killer of laptops. Being dropped is #2. The CPU has it's own cooler inside, bit the video card doesn't. I got a really nice cooing pad at Big Lots for $12. !!*ok*!!

Yes I do have a cooling pad that I custum built since it was hard to find one that would push air in the right place. I actually have it pushing air into the bottom intake, and have it pulling air from the exit. I will have to look at the temp limits of the chip, and monitor it a bit closer. But as of right now, it has not had an issue again. Knock on wood !**duh*!! If it starts acting up I still have it under warrenty from toshiba, it wont be out till this upcoming August. If it kicks the bucket after that I am going to get what I should have done in the first place, build my own gaming PC. I thought I would really use the laptop out at school, but I don't. I hand write all of my notes!

Thanks again for the advice. *!!thnx!!*

Get MSI Afterburner, it shows gpu temps and usage.
