Issue with Google Earth

For some reason, Google Earth continues to show me this when I load it, no matter how fast the (normally very slow) internet is. I have tried loading it with my mobile data (about 1-3 MB per second), and I still see the same thing. (IE no imagery loading at all, it just remains static). The image vaguely shows the Australia continent.

I don't really find this resolution to be of much help, since it seems to be captured at millions of kms away, which makes the ROW a little difficult to see.

I'll admit that the graphics card on this PC is showing it's age, but it's still holding out ok for now.

Is there any solution to this at all, or have the days of GE being useful come to an end? I have been trying to load a certain area (in South Australia) where the track goes through for days now, with no success. The overlay function does work fine, I'll admit, but not GE itself for some reason.

A bit frustrating in short...

Delete your disk cache in the options in Google Earth and all will be well. :D

That might be a solution. However, any sort of action like this seems to cause GE to lag for infinity. It could be the graphics card, being at least 8 years old!

Replacing it means a new tower etc, and lots of cash spent which may not be the best use of money. I guess the card won't last forever though.

Or look in the graphics settings of GE to lower them.

I tried clicking on restore defaults in the options window, but basically anything I select just causes GE to freeze. Not sure if it's the program or the video card.

Most games on my PC seem to run fine, so I don't get why a program designed by the richest company in the world still fails to respond.

Edit: For some reason ,it seems to be working now. I loaded it with my phone data connection, ran the .exe in the GE folder, and alas...
