Greg

I've heard it from friends who said theirs seemed last forever compared to their PCs. I sill have a mid-90's Mac that's never needed a repair. Even still has the original hard drive with MAC OS 7 on it and works fine. I've also read articles and surveys about it in the past. If I recall, their laptop reliability matched or surpassed Toshiba ....which had the longest average lifespan in the PC world.

Who wants to pay extra for computer reliability when they are obsoleted so fast though?

Good point. The longest I've kept a rig is the one I just replaced after four years.

I think when it comes to hardware and reliability, with the manufacturing technology they have today, just about all makers of components put out pretty darn good products. As for paying extra. IMO,it's not so much reliability,as it's paying that extra for performance. :D

It's been my experience that bringing up Apple or Mac tends brings out the haters in force from the PC and Android crowd. Not saying that's the case here...just an observation in general. It's kinda silly really. *!rolleyes!*

You like what you like, that's pretty much it. I like AMD CPU's and Nvidia cards, others like Intel CPU's and ATI cards. Others like Mac/ Apple. It's what works for you for what you are doing. I don't care if someone uses something different than I like. It's none of my business, really. Just enjoy life. !!*ok*!!

Just curious... why an AMD cpu, but not an AMD (ati) gpu? !**conf**!
