$500+ is still a bit pricey. At some time I will need to upgrade... I guess I need to save save save.

Moire pattern test.
Durango & Silverton
scenario 1 Durango
3 screenshots showing fence line.
1st w/MSAAx8 - coarse (annoying)
2nd w/SSAA 2x2 - medium (better)
3rd w/SSAA 3x3 - fine (P.D.G.)
2x2 looks reasonably ok. But 3x3 essentially knocks it out. Still @ 31fps. However I still see moire along the fences while the train is moving. And some flickering shadows. Tried running D&S on highest detail but that just put grass up in the air around the locomotive! So back down to SSAA 2x2 and detail level on high.
Ovetall pleased with this card.
Well I've praised this thing long enough. So now I'm just going to shut up and run trains. !!howdy!!

A week after installing this card and I am still amazed. These shots of the D&S are with SSAA at 3x3 and master detail set for highest! Totally maxed out all the way. And still getting 26fps! Never in my bornedest days did I think this was ever possible. It's interesting to watch. This GTX680 has a automatic "boost clock" that kicks in shortly after the sim starts rendering. It'll start out at 17fps or so for a few seconds and then all of a sudden it kicks up another 8-10fps. Too cool. !!*ok*!! !!*ok*!!
