This will be a another fictional route I'm afraid. A few real things here and there, but mostly my imagination going crazy.
I do have a bit imaginational history behind it:
"The Allegheny and Blue Ridge Railroad began its life in early 1992, after Norfolk Southern closed several railroad lines in 1986 through four towns: Jefferson; West Jefferson; Warensville and Fleetwood . This short railroad track began its very long life as a branch of Norfolk and Western in 1967, and it hauled mainly textiles and logs from these towns down the mountains into the modern day Piedmont Triad Area. Soon, the town of Jefferson sprang up, and after some growth, so did West Jefferson. These towns grew much faster than the others, as the highway was built there, and tourism and passenger and freight traffic was at an all time high. But in 1974, a sharp blow struck freight traffic in the region. The textiles and logs were no longer being bought on the market, so the freight trains stopped. As also, the passenger trains lost, with more and more people traveling by car instead of train. The line was abandoned in 1986, 4 years after the NS merger. Eventually, a man seeking a business in railways and located in the mountains, he bought the old branch. He saved enough money to fix the track to a fair condition, buy a locomotive and a few freight cars. One industry invested in it, because it looked promising. Pretty soon, the A&BR was born.

Seems like a fair history, with it being fictional and all. I just thought of all of that in about 5 minutes, so I'm sorry if it wasn't very good.

Anyways,
Did I mention I was working one of the trains that day?
