Rent A Wreck

Unread postby ATSF3814 » Wed Nov 09, 2011 8:47 pm

After seeing the new GATX SD40-2 repaints we got and Mad Mike's leaser locomotives, I decided I wanted in on the fun as well. So far I've got one pretty much done but there are several more I'm looking at as well:

And here's the real thing:

I'll try to do 8 or 9 for a nice sized package.

Is there a list of US stock leasing companies anywhere? this looks like a fertile and useful source of repaints, given they're obviously not limited to particular routes - or at least the larger ones aren't.

Here's a list from RR Pictures:

Not sure if that's all of them, but there's a pretty good number there.

I don't know if any of these photos will be of any help or not.

When I did the GATX repaints I found http://www.locophotos.com/index.php very useful for reference photos. They have an extensive searchable collection including leased units.

I look forward to seeing your package when its released.
