Railworks Autoloader

Well, I'm taking the next step up and going to try to get some rolling stock into Railworks.

Current Project, late 50's Autoloader.

Next Project, Alco High Nose diesel locomotive.

Project after that, Baldwin steam locomotive.

I will for the next couple weeks be working on some projects and trying to advance up.

Might still work on scenery when I have more time.

Here's progress on the Autoloader frame.

Next will be when I'm building the autoloader body.

....This frame can also be used for a vintage log car, flat car, and box car. Might have to do all 4 to gain modeling experience.

It's fine, sketchup is a good working program.

Also, here's a little more progress on the train car. About finished with the body.

Will get more done when I get some more time.

Jonathan:

If you have a few minutes, please outline how you get a Sketchup Model into Railworks. What software, plugins, etc. etc. What are the steps?

Thanks! ! !

Well, first you will need the freeware Blender program and then the payware 3D Crafter program. Which costs $70 dollars.

I export from sketchup as a Collada file in pieces.

Then export the pieces to Blender as a 3DS file.

And then import the pieces into Crafter and then size them to the correct size.
