New York Apartment

I have put my other apartment to the side for now to build some smaller style apartments for the route builders. This will be a small two story new york style apartment once finished.

These were two floors and had a basement apartment as well. Normally these buildings had a total of 3 apartments in all.

Some more progress.

I hope to get this finished either today or tomorrow. I'm working as fast as I can without making a error.

Something I should have did first on the other one was merge everything first and then paint a primer coat over it so if anything small and un-seeable was missed the item could still be exported without problem.

I'm good at buildings, but terrible at everything else.

Here's some more progress.

Hopefully when I export it from sketchup I won't have problems with the export. Some times it doesn't want to export the whole thing and that would simply destroy the model.

The ledges will run all the way around until it meets the back wall. That would be bare because most times these would be right up on the back of another building. Simply there wouldn't even be enough room for a alley.

And apartments are my strength, these should also help brighten up Railworks for the freeware route builders.

When building a apartment on sketchup you want to make sure your lines are in the exact place and all the ledges are of the correct length. Like what I'm doing here. I'm placing guide lines to where the windows go and where they should be on the third floor.

At least all of the apartments made follow a simple basis, all the windows are in the same spot as you go up in floors. And all the ledges should be at least close to the correct length.

If you would like to see this in a particular texture past it here and I'll consider it.

JP, I thought the last one was great, this one is looking awesome.

Texture? you could do brick again, but, stucco is probably more prototypical. Yeah, beige. (just don't do muave or puse) !*roll-laugh*!

What is a stucco texture?

This one I'll have to do differently though, as is, I'll have to remove all the textures from the other one and retexture it before I can release it, and can't find it's 3 story version anywhere, I'm afraid that version of it is lost forever.

I could be the one to bring Railworks some of the best apartments available, but this one is strictly apartment, this kind didn't have a business on the bottom floor.

As well, here's some more progress.

They use a lot of brick on the east coast, not so much on the west due to earth quakes (if you do see brick is usually for decoration and not foundation).

Here's some more progress.

I wonder, am I putting on too much detail?

Trying to make this look as close to the real version as possible.

Here's some more progress. Maybe if I'm lucky I can get this fully complete today and get it into the game.

Though, more likely I'll have to use some division to scale it down to the correct size once I get it into Crafter if it's too big.

Alright, finally finished building the model and successfully exported it into 3d Crafter. Now everything got a pre-primer to make sure that everything has been textured, even something you might miss.

Here's some more progress.

Now getting closer to release, I can estimate that I'll have it finished by sometime tomorrow and release it then.

I also have now already sized it to the correct size for Railworks.
