My new project on sketchup

I got to thinking so I've decided to take my skill with Sketchup and start to build a Baldwin 2,6,2 Prairie.

I can build the body and cab in sketchup, but I'll have to build everything else in blender, including the cab controls.

Here's a picture of a start, it isn't much yet, but something is better then nothing.

I've finished the front part of the engine.

Now to start on the body and boiler, then join both pieces together to form the complete body of the Prairie.

And yes, the one I'm building is from about 1905, but it would work better in my route since it would be stronger then the 4,4,0 or 2,8,0

Actually, sketchup is the easy part, everything else is the hard part.

Yes. Actually, both Moguls had been on my list of trains I wanted to do. That and some Pacifics.

If I can get this into the game I can finally start to do that list of undone trains.

Here's some more progress.

Started on the cab.

I just figured out how to cut on this program. I think then that I should be able to make the wheels on sketchup and just do the physics in blender.

Like I said before, with my new skill with sketchup I make it look easy.

This should also be the engine that is needed to pull that load of train cars up my mountain route, a engine that has tractive effort. Once finish I could believe that this one would have a decent amount of strength and a mountain wouldn't bring it to a halt so easily.
