Route X is going to be a fictional route i am creating because i could not do the correct terrine for my area where i live. This was to originally to become the Reading and Northern RR a real route instead im doing this by hand there for it is not going to be a real railroad. Route X's story does begin like this,A once thriving logging and mining town is coming back to life as a tourist railroad. So far at the beginning yard off in the woods you can see the remains of part of the logging mill and some old track not usable and even a old bridge that has since collapsed into the small river "you see it in the picture of the new bridge just built".But how ever your new company has laid some newer track and rehabbed some old track for use and built new entrances at the tunnels. And added to the tourism you are taking over a switching company railroad and combining in into one railroad company. Now what is done so far only the first couple miles of track is laid the first town where it all begins is 75% done and the next small city is only 25% done so far. Please let me know how you guys like the pictures and im open to suggestions questions as im still learning the porcess of building here !*hp*! so please be gentle *!embar*! Looks really good! !!*ok*!!

As far as using freeware assets, as long as your route is also free, they usually don't mind. Doesn't hurt to contact who created the assets, tho.

No, no, no, no no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Package it up as a WIP in a .rpk file. There are quite a few of these out here and we love them. Someone will pick it up and go on with it. (dag nabbit, wish I could build)

To create an RWP file, go under the packager tab in the Railworks launcher. In here you'll have your entire assets and routes list. Just find the folder containing your route (RW_Tools can help you identify it if you're having trouble) and add it to the list of things you want included in the RWP file. Once everything looks good, go ahead and click create package, give it a name, and you're done.

On the subject of repainting, these are the programs you'll want to have:

An image editing program like Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.net.
RSBInTool for exporting and importing textures.
RW_Tools for editing the bin files.
DXTBmp in case you need to convert the DDS files into more workable BMP files.
