Searchlight CP SD40-2

Unread postby suzukisk » Thu Sep 12, 2019 3:28 pm

I have made my CP versions of the Searchlight SD40-2 available for anyone who wants them. This is based on the UP version so you must own it to copy all the geo files. I have cleaned out all the duplicate files to the best of my ability. All the geo files from the up version must be copied to each model. They are in the base folder as well as the engine and cabview folders. I did my best so enjoy them as they are. It worked fine on my system after I copied everything over to test. Let me know if any problems but please be considerate of my efforts. If you do not like them just delete them. I hope everyone enjoys

Hi suzukisk !

Much more better. The blueprints are now only one step away from perfection ;-)

Made an overview, what you should do better:

CPL\
========

JRSD40-2_CPL.xml
Name: "JR SD40-2 Union Pacific"
uses:
CPL\Engine\JRSD40-2_CPL_Numbers</CsvFile>
CPL_Snoot\Bogies\JR_SD40-2_Bo01.xml <- old ??
CPL\Engine\[00]JRSD40-2_UP</GeometryID> ok
example of animations:
CPL_Snoot\CabView\Animations\ ... not checked
CPL_Snoot\Simulation\JR_SD40-2_Simulation.xml NO!
CPL\CabView\[00]JRSD40-2_CPL_CabControls</InteriorGeometryID> ok
CPL\CabView\JR_SD40-2_CabCamera.xml ok, if you like
<FrontCoCPLlingBlueprintID> made a global change to "UP" ?

JRSD40-2_UP.xml
Name: "JR SD40-2 CPL"
uses:
CPL\Engine\JRSD40-2_UP_Numbers</CsvFile> ist that ok ?
UP_Snoot\Bogies\JR_SD40-2_Bo01.xml ok
CPL\Engine\[00]JRSD40-2_UP</GeometryID> ok

UP_Snoot\CabView\Animations\ ... FANS ON THE ROOF: NOT WORKING
UP_Snoot\Simulation\JR_SD40-2_Simulation.xml ok
CPL\CabView\[00]JRSD40-2_CPL_CabControls</InteriorGeometryID> ok, ok
CPL\CabView\JR_SD40-2_CabCamera.xml ok, if you like
<FrontCouplingBlueprintID> ok

Child_JRSD40-2_UP_RS3L.xml
uses UP\Engine\[00]Child_JRSD40-2_UP_RS3L</GeometryID> is that ok ?
didn't you repaint the horn or may we delete CPL\Engine\Child_JRSD40-2_UP_RS3L.GeoPcDx ?

The global change from UP to CPL makes every ControlName unusable in JRSD40-2_CPL.xml .

So I think we (and you) can delete CPL\Engine\JRSD40-2_CPL_*.* which seems to be not functional ?

CPLB\
========

CPLB\Scripts\SD40_EngineScriptMain Pease don't! Please use the directory of the locomotive you created the clone from. (UP\Scripts\ ?)
And delete the folder CPLB\ completely, it contains lots of unnecessary copies anyway.
Both
========
In my opinion all files (not directories !) in UP\ are a reminiscent version from testing - so we can delete the files (not directories!) in CPL\ and CPLB\ .

My advice
==========
- delete CPL\*.bin, CPLB\*.bin and CPL\*.GeoPcDx, CPLB\*.GeoPcDx (see at "Both")
- delete CPL\Engine\JRSD40-2_CPL*
- delete CPL\Scripts and CPLB\Scripts and adopt both JRSD40-2_UP.xml :
<Name d:type="cDeltaString">SearchlightSimulations\EMD\JRSD40-2\RailVehicles\Diesel\UP\Scripts\SD40_EngineScriptMain</Name>
- copy animation files into both CPL\ and CPLB\ and adopt both JRSD40-2_UP.xml

You can use the LocoInformation and the Consist for Quickdrives and include it in your package.

Cheers

Kris
