HH660, NP

Many thanks to Rick Grout for making the generic HH660 available in the library:
http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/d ... e-repaints

Rick did a beautiful job with the textures, so there was not a whole lot to do on this one. Added a few layers of weathering, with the majority of work being the mapping of the NP textures; it's a fine model and there are lots of little details for having only three major texture files. Unfortunately, I had to position the Northern Pacific script a little higher on the hood than I wanted to, due to the size differential between the doors and the hood sides; just couldn't risk any more hair loss :D

The NP had three HH660's, and I've seen some photos of them operating the coach yard around King Street Station in Seattle, and also in Tacoma. The locos were originally numbered 125-127, and in 1956 were re-numbered 600-602. None of them saw BN green, with two being sent to the Walla Walla Valley Railroad, and one of those eventually went to the Port of Longview. I plan on painting all the NP numbers (static), so it may be another week or so before they hit the library...

Thanks for the compliments! !!howdy!!

After consulting with Michael (above), I've decided to place the HH660 project onto a siding while I do some refinements on my previous NP caboose (featured in the HH660 screens above). This time around, they will be for Michael's freeware wooden version http://www.golden-age-rails.com/packsrw/gnx200.html The pack will feature six individually numbered repaints. So a longer wait perhaps, but a few more goodies as a result...

Refinements include:

- Varying degrees of weathering for each car.
- Prototypical extension of NP-Brown to car ends, frame, grab-irons, cat-walks, roof edges.
- Adjustment to shading of floor/step surfaces.
- Variations to font/script.
- Added road-numbers above the end-doors.
- Improved definition of beaded-wood over markings and stencils.
- Additional shading beneath roof-edge fascia-board.

,,,and now it's "back to the paint-shop" !!howdy!!

To those who responded above, please check your pm's; a preview is enclosed until the current bandwidth issue allows for RWA library availability.
