For you BN fans out there...

Here's a little something for you Burlington Northern fans in the community. The LMX B39-8Es! I have 15 static numbers planned, with 5 being the early scheme without the red and the remaining 10 in the late scheme, with the red. Here's what I have so far. I've almost completed the early scheme version.

Huh, always wondered if these were ever really popular with any railroads or did they just sit around the leasing companies yard like a Yugo or a Smart Car sits idle at a auto rental place.

Now I is edumowcated to the fakt that Burlington Northern was a big customer.

Thanks everyone! More progress shots should come this weekend. I'm just stuck with the logo. It is a real headache...Can't really find a font for it.

I think you or someone else is going to have to create that from scratch. The only other suggestion I have is if you can find a dead on sideways picture that you could put into you image editor and work with it so you can paste it in there. Interesting bit of trivia on this is that the logo aren't the same from one side to the other one is just in italics and the other is back leaning.

I’ve been trying to make them from scratch. It’s hard cause, like you said, the sides are different. What’s also making it hard is that there aren’t many good side photos to actually use as a reference/model.

Looking great! Did you happen to use my Monongahela repaint for help on aligning all those stripes? It's such a pain to repaint, so hopefully you didn't have too much trouble with it.

Thanks guys! And ET, I did use yours as a reference to find some pieces. Surprisingly, I didn't have too many problems with the stripes. I estimated the locations pretty well and only needed to make some minor adjustments. Anyway, all 5 of the included early schemes are complete. 8500, 8512, 8521, 8556, and 8575.
