WOW! First the AEM-7 and now this little baby. !*YAAA*!
RS.com is developing a EMD GP9. Yeeehaw! !*brav*!

First picture:http://railsimulator.blogspot.com/2011/03/gp9-begins.html

I'd like to see the green and the orange Western Pacific livery, the SFSP merger scheme and the ATSF Yellow- and Bluebonnet scheme.

SP both hi and low nose... it will be interesting to hook up Dick Cowen's GP9 to the end and compare.

... and how could I forget the Black Widow.

Sweet! Like the SW1500, the number of possible paint schemes is almost endless. *!greengrin!*

Edit:

Even though I'm not really a "fan" of this road I would like to see a GP9 in the Rock Island "bankruptcy blue" scheme: http://www.railpixs.com/ri/RI4422_HoustonTx_Dec78.jpg

obviously i would want CN, but not just the one in red and black, i truly want the Green,Gold,Black livery. i would also like to see BN, SF, BNSF, UP, NP, and Montana Rail Link. but there MUST be a green&gold CN loco! i bet it will rival the SW1500 for quality!

As a big fan of the engines I would like to see a unit with dynamic brake, a unit with torpedo tube air reservoars and NYC unit which is long hood forward with torpedo tubes http://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=152799&nseq=1
http://www.trainweb.org/sp5623/
So I would like to see UP, BN, C&O and B&O (not Chessie System) Milwaukee Road, SP,CNW, NYC,PC,PRR and a lot more on my mind *!lol!*

If the also make a low hood version, it would be great to get some paints of short lines that still use GP9's such as the WSOR (Actaully they just took their GP9's and SD9's off the roster, but they were in service till very recently). Would be nice to see something like this (The second unit is a GP20 but the lead unit is a GP9): http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=71937

This is what I grew up watching.... the C&O must have had hundreds of these. The locals used them; the Ronceverte yard engine and even the big coal drags used strings of them up to 7 or 8 units. All high-nose. I might have even noticed when GP7's were being replaced by GP9's. Not that I knew anything about that then, but I remember a time when the units I was watching looked the same as usual but they used a couple less on the big drags and the yard engine seemed to rumble the ground more than usual. I guess when you're 3 feet tall you notice such things more.

I sure hope to see C&O names on some of these.

you were lucky, all i got to see was SD40's being replaced by these new locos like everyone else is seeing. i haven't seen a regular SD40 in over 1/2 a year now, not even the widenose edition!

Also one of my dreams is to see a GP10 in railworks in BN and IC colors. A lot of paint schemes available for this engine *!lol!*
http://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=341927&nseq=1 - IC
http://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=56912&nseq=4 - BN
P.S. I would love nice sounds for the gp9 - old school 567 You must agree that is one of the best sounding locomotives
