Shortliner- That bridge comes from http://golden-age-rails.com/scenery.html. He's got so much great stuff!

At any rate, here's the latest work on the route; a new, multipurpose cargo facility in Waubeno at the very end of the line, the far track that passes behind the trees is no longer in service and the grade crossing has been removed.

And....a fire observation tower from the CCC days.

Here's the view looking east from the tower

Looking at about another few weeks or a month before there's enough consistent scenery on the west/southwest end of things. Hopefully sooner!

Wow, wonderful route so far! Love the abandoned route, there's a lot of places like that here in NC, you see a bit of rail left and then nothing. CCC?

I love new routes, especially free ones. That is indeed why I build scenery objects, to help the route builders and hopefully draw more fans, and possibly more freeware modelers to the game. But also, some new professional developers would also be nice, especially if they offer big steam trains, my favorite.

If I ever can get past the rolling stock phase I hope to be able to later also build some freeware locomotives for the game, (Mostly steam trains.)

csxgp38-2 : Thanks! I love that rickety old short line feel too! and this is the CCC: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilian_Conservation_Corps

jpeters: You'll find some of your assets here and there on the route. I like variety so the more different models I can use the better, keep up your good (And might I add, improving) modeling. These most recent houses fit right in.

Think I found a good job for the red GP9s. At least until I paint up an F Unit or something !!*ok*!!

And whataya do when you get fed up making a sawmill? Replace it with a small airport of course!

Looking for better lights to use for the approach lights, but lights are slim pickens it seems.

The approach lights should all be the same height, 4-6 feet above the level of the runway threshold.

I can't think of any good lights that came with RW to use, though I am starting to try my hand at modelling (between sleeping, working and doing calc/diff eq homework), so who knows where that will go.

Looking really nice, Shi! !*salute*! I like the idea of a small airport. I have seen a few small planes in RW. Just need a hangar.

CCC out here is the California Conservation Corps. Yeah, we gotta do everything different. !**duh*!!

Oops, I see a hangar.

I drew this up in SketchUp fairly quickly. I have no idea as to how to texture it or turn it into a light, or get it into RW for that matter, but it's a half decent model I think. The pole is 6' long, but can be buried to produce the desired height, obviously.

Should you, or anyone else, be interested, you are welcome to use it so long as your project is freeware. For something so small, it would be appreciated if you mentioned me and notified me that you are using it, but it is not necessary.

Bah, it won't let me upload the actual model. If you are interested send me a PM.

Well, I know how to texture it and can get it into Railworks, but I don't know how to make it shine light like a light.

If you zip it up (or rar or 7z), you can attach it to a post, as long as it's under 256 KB.

A little video of switching operations in Waubeno, as well as the Excursion train leaving town.
