What can we expect that this will be.

If freeware you could actually set it to the default SD40-2 cab and you really couldn't tell the difference. Since the cab section actually looks very simular to a SD40 cab.

Looking good though, keep up the good work.

Of course, I don't expect this to be freeware.

I havent finished the clutter items. this will have front and back ditch lights, stairway lamps, as per prototype. This model is from the NS series. So its fitting that NS livery will be made, as well as an ATSF repaint.

it still needs a ton of things: cab interior for external view and internal view, truck brake cables, pipes, etc, Fuel injector tanks that rest above the main tanks. grills for the radiator centre console, grills over the exhaust fans, coupler cables, shovel, and windows just to name a few.

What is nice is that SP/SSW/DRGW didn't use their custom lighting so it will fit in perfectly without needing any child mods.

Yeah its pretty much the same across the board. all the series have an A/C unit on the cabtop, the only one change is the headlamp. take a look:

GREAT NEWS!!!! SO i got the gp60 in the game to see how it would affect fps. turns out this time I can put in 5 10 or more in the same high asset tile area and not have a single effect on my FPS. This was my biggest concern, as i see gp60s by the 5s in a lashup frequently. Now its exactly the same as the dash 9 in cpu performance. I took every effort to make sure I could replicate how one would model in 3ds max and did it in sketchup to prove to myself that modelling in sketchup doesnt have to kill fps. Thanks to the various plugins I was able to scrimp and save at every turn, and keep my model looking great. the model is sitting at 15,333 and trucks are 99% done. It only had 1 top LOD, and 1 texture map just for testing and integrity purposes. I need to finish some clutter items and a very simple cab control stand (for external view) for the cab and i should be good to go. Its amazing what you learn when you do things right. I am however going to finish the cables and pipes in 3ds max to have better control over the polys, since I dont want this model to creep over 20K total. so i have little under 5K to work with. Thankfully I think i can achieve that.

I'll post more pics soon.

I now need to ask... what is your outlook for a GP60B or M?

GP60M is looking very good if I can keep the momentum going here. all i would need to change is the cab obviously. the body is exacly the same. a slug however maybe down the road. but I was certainly looking at the M. I like it.

trucks are done. I'm hoping everything is kosher with those. the body needs a little bit of work still. model is at 15,302 polys. Still needs the obvious; cables, grills and a few pipelines. Enjoy the renderings!

Later would you be interested in building a steam locomotive.

If you could make also a freeware version of this one here I'll send you every last reference photo I have for it and even the 3ds file for it's cab that I built.

I have a ton of reference photo's of this locomotive that I'll let you have, including just about as many cab photo's you could need for it.

Your GP60 is looking great, keep up the good work.
