Alright, I have the body just about complete.

Now, I am looking for a underframe picture of the Baldwin 2,6,2 Prairie so I can make sure it looks as close as possible.

Then hopefully not too long after that I can finally finish it and release it.

Added the front steps and the cuppler house on the front. In the hole in that thing is where the front cuppler will be.

Some more progress.

Getting very close to exporting to Blender where I will finish it up and release it after I study Blender for a while.



P.S, if I haven't mentioned yet, it will be freeware and will most likely be in ATSF = Santa Fe line name. That or stock Blank, = no paint except for plain light black, no line name, no numbers. Tender, blank.

By the way, does anyone know of photo's of the American Baldwin 2,6,2 Prairie? Including cab interior, under-frame, I need mostly photo's of these two if any are available anywhere.

Some more progress.


Started working on the cab and found one real Baldwin Prairie photo.

If you have any, or know of any more they would held a lot for the train being as close to the real thing as possible.

Unfortunately I had to start over the entire body because it was too small for the wheels.

A friend of mine made the wheels for me to Railworks correct size and it also helped me find out in time that the other body was too small.

Anyways, the other body the boiler was too small and too short.

This one is more to the 1900 to about 1910 Baldwin Prairie standards.

The good news is that when it's finished it will be a powerful locomotive.



And p.s, I plan for it to be freeware and found out that I can do most of the body work, if not all of the work in sketchup.

It will take a while longer to finish though.

Especially since I will have to learn how to use Blender before I can even get it into the game.

And I have yet to fill in the inside part below the floor and boiler. It will hopefully be my first of a long list of steam locomotives, destined to be freeware.

Since I have no intention as of right now to even try payware.

Hopefully, I will be able to do all the modeling in google sketchup. Then I wouldn't have to worry about some of blender's tricky parts.
