Actually I'm not really new. I had started a route called "Rocky Top Pass" some months ago, but it turned out to be very boring and exhausting to build a fictional route.

And what should I say now: I'm really obsessed!!!!!!!!! *!greengrin!* *!lol!*
It's so amazing to work with RWDecal and slowly see the tracks expanding. !*brav*!

An early WIP shot for you. Near milepost 202, looking down towards Oroville Yard.

Hiya, from personal experience, it's best to work on scenery while laying track, so when you get to placing scenery, it doesn't seem like an endless chore.

Good tip. I initially planned to lay all tracks first, but I think if I place some scenery around the tracks right now it's better.

He he, i know that feeling. RWDecal is one amazing program. I have to agree that laying track and scenery is the way to go, at least for me it is. Looks like you are off to a great start .

Awesome!!! I can hardly wait. I am making slow to steady progress on my fictional Isabella Line too.

Currently I've only finished track laying in Oroville Yard.
Unfortunately I can't progress on the route for the next 4-5 weeks. *!sad!*

I must learn for my final exams in school. This takes all my time at the moment.
Thank you for the interest. !*salute*!

Good find. Never thought of the WP owning such a loco and the similarity to the GS-4 is unbelievable.
But I think a WP F7 repaint would be better for the start. A guy called "Daylighttrain" even made California Zephyr repaints of the G-TraX coaches. A F7 would be perfect for these.

well i think the GS-6 is actually a Freight version of the GS-4 with extensive modifications. but i do agree, some F-units would be welcome! (especally if they were repainted from the F-7 from 3DTrains!

A quick update:

I've revisited work on the route after a long break, so there isn't much progress.
The last two days I had to redo some of the tracks in Oroville Yard as I also had to change the gradient so that it suits the real-world.
All main tracks in Oroville Yard are now completed.

Now a difficult part starts: Adding all the spurs and local branches all around the Yard. They are very confusing and if I'd only look into Google Earth I'd be doomed. !*hp*!
Thank God I have the original UP track charts, it helps a lot.
These local spurs will be great for some switching scenarios as is the Yard.

As you can see in the pictures the old tracks that go to the scrapped roundhouse are also still missing. More to do. *!rolleyes!*

Wow. I kinda envy you. Your route had a Roundhouse, I am hard pressed to find one along mine *!sad!*

I have to ask though, I don't see any work pits in your decal, did they fill them in, or were they never there to begin with?
