Thanks guys for the compliments *!!thnx!!* Work has been a little slow on the route, just waiting for the Block Assets tool so I figured I'd tackle the SW1500's that once served on the Montour. When finished I plan on uploading these units as they can be used on both the Montour and the P&LE routes :D

Just to let everyone know, the route has not fallen by the wayside, although progress has been slow. I've been awaiting the release of the Train Simulator 2012 update and the promise of help anticipated by the new block asset tool.

Rich Shirey's Montour is now avilable in the route section as a public BETA. It is a work of art. Just like Riche's MSTS routes were in the past.
For a good understanding of the Montour railroad,

Unfortunately I tried to install the route, but it won't install because of the automatic install thing where it doesn't install by rwp file.

Some reason, when a route is set up like that it never installs on my end. I follow the directions and everything, the route acts like it's installing, but it never installs and because of that I am always unable to run the route, and I would love to be able to run it.

If you have vista or win 7, then you have to right click on the route_setup.exe and run it as an admin. Known PITA of Win 7 and Vista.

jpetersjr,

Did you right hand click on the install button and run as adminstrator? Your problem maybe Windows Vista/7 blocking the install.
I was one of the BETA testers and I never had a install problem Every time there was a update sent out, I had to un-install the existing Montour route and install the newest update.
Try running the install program as adminstrator if you are running Windows Vista or 7.
Usually the user account control (UAC) tends to block programs from operating and I set mine to off.
I hope that works for you,
Glenn

Love the route so far. Just wondering if the speed limit could be changed from 15 MPH, even if it is a free roam scenario. John *!!thnx!!*

It wouldn't install from the automatic install, but I found a way to install the route manually, by copying the route folder into the route directory within Program Files(86) Steam, Steamapps, Common, Railworks, Content, and then I pasted everything in and now it works perfectly.

And I must say, amazing route, one of the best I've seen so far that isn't payware. Keep up the great work, that is why I build route assets, soon I'll get into big city buildings.

That is the manual way and I have done that before with different routes.
As for the speed limit at 15 mph, that was set back in the 1970's since the rail line was in bad shape especially from Bethel Park Pa to Mifflin Junction Pa. Rich kept the historical value in place. The 3 big industries of the time was CONSOL Coal's Montour 10, Montour 4 and Westland mines and the Champion Coal Prep plant.
Check out www.montourrr.com. This the railroads historical website, this will give everyone a idea.
I grew up close to Montour #10 and Montour #4 mines but when I really became interested in the railroad (my standpoint) it was too late and the tracks were pulled up in my area.
