Just for curiosity, why two different whistle sounds? The Big Boy, Challenger, and FEF's all had the same whistle, a Hancock 3 Chime long bell.

A challenger, Big Boy and FEF-3 all used the same bells and whistles. literally. Hancock long bell 3 chime for 300+ PSI, air rung bell.

Well, Even if they were the same whistle, they all sound different today...

844's is medium deep and rich
3985's is deep and rich, a little barky though
and the Big Boy one on 844 now has a deep, low, rich sound to it.

IDK if this is from age, use, or if they have been modified, but they all have a dferent sound.
This is easy to tell from youtube videos.

I don't suppose you're the author of the challenger replacement whistle that's on TranSim.com, are you? I downloaded that one a while back, and it's not working properly anymore (dead silence when I yank on the cord now) since I've been upgraded to 2013, and I miss the sound of it intensely.

The default challenger whistle from RSC is a bit of a downer when you've heard the real thing in person like I have with #3985, so I'd really like a realistic tooter on my challengers.

I'll give the 2.0 a try and see what happens!

Right, tried to install the challenger replacement whistle, still no sound coming from it when I try to sound the whistle, so something's up...

I think that I received the update and your whistle replacements are working on my system...

Well I wish I knew was in clinker's name to do, for I rather miss the proper sound on the tooter...

I took those 2 files and Re add it to the IHH files, Fixed her up with the best whistles I could get. Idk how it sounds on your end for V2, but the V1 sounds great! I'll soon be able to buy me V2 BB and Challenger and give this V2 whistle a try.
