Coming soon to a Railworks near you.

A vintage piece of American history, the drive in resturant, also known as The Hop in the 50's and 60's.

I got the idea to build this after watching the history channel and something about the history of restaurants were playing.

Edit: The file has been uploaded, it should be available for download by tomorrow morning.

.......About the Item_In History.........

Drive In Resturaunts first started to appear in the early 1930's and soon became one of the busiest places in town. People could either eat inside, or could eat outside in their car and have it delivered to them on a tray. In the 50's and 60's the drive in resturaunt was known as The Hop and shortly after that the drive in resturaunts began to disappear until today not many are left in existence for the new generation to experience, about the only one left are the Sonic resturaunts.

No Sonics in California, but we still have one classic icon in Hollywood, a Tiny Naylor's with car hops on roller skates. Arizona still has Dairy Queen with car hop service. (and Sonic) Nice work again, JP! !!*ok*!!

I remember the A&W drive-ins in Canada in the 60s.
They hung a tray outside your window.
With 2 kids in the back seat, it was a disaster for my father's Mustang's white leatherette seats.

This is simply an item to tide the community over until I finish my other bigger sets.

I've been currently working on some more downtown buildings and thinking about also doing some new houses.

Also, I'm working on the bridge, which I plan to release soon with a couple more bridges.

We had them here in the US too. At least some parts. I don't know if they were all over the US, but we had them in the Chicago area.

There are three stand alone (and several outlet) A&Ws that I have been too here in California.

Some more pictures. I built this building in only 3D Crafter without the use of sketchup.

OK, but that's about 500 miles north of me. Kinda far to drive for a burger, shake and fries. !**duh*!!
