GN Butte Division 1.2

Unread postby GreatNortherner » Tue May 22, 2012 6:32 am

Hi,

The version 1.2 update for the Butte Division is now available.

You can get it here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?e9zc95nvx1gn6h9
Please read the enclosed readme file. You must have installed version 1.1 (available in the file libraries at RWA and trainsim), then install this update on top of it.

EDIT: Sorry about this, there were some crucial files missing from the first upload. Please install this hotfix after the main installer that is linked above: http://www.mediafire.com/?adcxrik821ba5yk

The update addresses several scenery bugs in the old version, adds trackage all the way to Floweree, MT (though scenery is only done to Sheffels, MT). New scenery items like elevators, train order signals, or trestles, are included too -- and a special thanks to John Lippai for his power line lofts.

This will be the last update for a while, I won't publish a new version until I have at least reached Ft. Benton.

Please let me know if anything doesn't work. This update is pretty straight-forward so everything should work, but then you never know. Especially with scenarios -- sometimes the slightest edits to the track network can break a scenario.

Cheers,
Michael

Do you have v1.0 and 1.1 installed before adding v1.2?
The only problem I am having is the texture for the "GN desert sage" is missing

Good Morning:

I guess I didn't have them installed the correct way. After installing this is what I am missing.

First of all, thank you for your effort in creating a route for all season. A route that is timeless, we can run modern day BNSF locos and rolling stock, or we can go back in time where two flags both competed for business and shared track. A time when the transition from steam to diesel was at it height. Thank you again.
Now the hard part, I've tried to run all of the freeroam scenarios. Noticed I have mention the word tried. It seem that every time I start the sceanarios, I will be able to start rolling down the track, and then run into the dreaded SBHH. I have all of the versions of this route, and from the map view there is unlimited potental for this route. I don't mind the missing assets, in fact it tends to add a little color and humor into my day. I do mind not being able to run the route.
It seem that all of the SBHH's occur when the trains come into Great Falls from the version 1.2 extentions.
Please do what you can to fix this, and again thank you for your hard work in producing a great route.

Is it possible that those two BINs are from RW2, and were not part of RW3?

It may not be your eyes. I learned that if a route shows a missing a Kuju\Railsimulator\xxx asset to check to see if it's in the Kuju\RailsimulatorUS\xxx folder or if it shows a missing a Kuju\RailsimulatorUS\xxx asset to check to see if it's in the Kuju\Railsimulator\xxx folder. In numerous cases the "missing" asset is in the other folder. You can use RW-Tools to change the path to the correct folder or just copy the files into the folder that is missing the asset.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies, and sorry for the missing files in the package!!!

Here is a quick hotfix that should address the two bad bugs: http://www.mediafire.com/?adcxrik821ba5yk

The SBHH are most likely down to missing terrain textures, which seem to have crept in when I did some experiments with custom terrain paints. I updated the terrain texturing blueprint to get rid of all references.

The missing textures for the sagebrush (now with winter textures, yay!) are now also included.

Those Kuju cars are a bit of a mystery to me -- looks like I need to delete and redownload my Kuju assets again to get rid of some potential non-default things. However, these cars are just static scenery items, so if they are missing it shouldn't matter that much. I'll try to correct that with the next version, and with "factory fresh" Kuju assets folders. !*salute*!

Cheers,
Michael

Hey Everybody *!embar*!
I guess, maybe, a little explanation is in order! At least I would feel better about my last post.
Well,it sorta goes like this.About 3 years ago,my awesome wife, and myself were working at home.I was using a 20 pound hammer to break some concrete, and a piece about 10 pounds ricoched, and hit me il my knee. The resulting twisting motion destroyed 5 verterbrae in my lumbar spine, and fractured my neck in 2 places.I have 2 rods, and 6 screws in my lower back, and 2 plates, and 8 screws in my neck.Needless to say,I live in constant pain, but I have 3 young kids that don't understand. That's all.Thank You all for listening. *!embar*!
