Hi,

After over a year of very slow development I can finally publish the first segment of my "pet project", a route of some parts of the Great Northern Butte Division, centered around Great Falls, MT. Version 1 will cover just half of that town, all of the west bank of Missouri river will be modeled and scenicked. So that would cover the huge GN yard, the GN car shops, engine facilities, the small yards and grain facilities on the southern end of the Smelter Line, the interchange with the Milwaukee Road pretty much in the center of town, the joint MILW/GN stock yards, the refinery just north of town and the Anaconda copper smelter with its maze of spurs and its own small ("Little Chicago") Yard.

All parts on the east bank of the river will be missing. Tracks and siding markers will be present, but scenery will not. The MILW and GN depots will also have to wait for a later version.

If all goes as planned I should have this route ready in a few days or so.

Thanks for kind words. I had a lot of fun building this route. I fought intense battles with it in MSTS many years ago, trying to get this densely built up area to load and still allow to be worked on, in RW this was all so much easier. Great Falls must have been quite the fascinating place back in the heyday of the railroads. The GN and MILW having built their tracks right through town, with so many spurs and sidings, yards, freight houses and two magnificient passenger depots. The GN main lines to Havre, Butte/Helena, Shelby/Sweet Grass and Billings all connected here, plus numerous branch lines off these four that were also serviced starting in Great Falls. Plus there were many passenger trains, on the GF-Havre line alone up to three round trips per day.

Just before I came here to do my "RWA reading" I had started the upload of the public beta.
