Trestle Lofts Add-on

Unread postby spec5sx » Thu Aug 18, 2011 8:14 pm

For those of you who have the pack of bridge and trestle assets I released a while back, I have made a few lofted additions.
With these lofts you can avoid placing multiple individual sections and the tedious task of aligning them. !*hp*!

I used the originals and spent a lot of time aligning them. This is a great update. Thanks! !!*ok*!!

Thanks everyone. I'm in the process of revamping the Trestle Pack. Such as, adding lofted items, remodeling trusses and supports as well as adding new models and options.
The screen shot below is just a sample.
The support tower on the right is the original, the one on the left is the new model.
Same basic design, but with better textures and and lowered poly count. The model on he right is 3400 polys. The model on the left is 245 polys.

Peace.

I was having a terrible time creating the Wye end of a bridge that crosses the Columbia river with segments. This will make it easier, Thank you very much.

BTW, the Wye was created into the river because there wasn't a lot of usable land on the sides of the gorge.

Here's a tip: Lay your track with your grades and curves across whatever you need to bridge. Get the grades even and so on. Test it a few times to make sure all is OK. In tracklaying mode, grab the selector you use to place platforms and such. Select the length of track where the bridge is to be placed. Select the offset tool, then set the offset value to 0.1. Select your bridge loft, and place all the segments it asks for. Your loft will now have the exact curves and grades of the track. It will need to be lowered a bit, and moved towards the center some, but far less hassle sorting it out than otherwise.

The North end of the BN Oregon Trunk line at Wishram... Very little done on it, about 20 miles of the Gorge from The Dalles dam to the Sam Hill bridge. Big plans are to take it the 237 Miles to the junction with the SP/UP at Chemult some day.

Hiya Mike,

That bridge looks remarkably similar to the one I did for Jerry and the NSAND Route. So I dusted off the original model, scaled it down and slapped some new textures on it.

Whadya think?
