Carrying on from the hopper cars posted in the library last weekend I've been repainting Bulkhead Flats (48 & GSC 53 ft), GSC 53ft Flatcars, Tank car and Airslide hoppers all of which will be uploaded to Chacal this weekend but here's some tasters. I've used Great Northerner models for the most part as being readily available.

The tank car represents a group of 50 owned by the Burlington for company fuel distribution. The Bulkheads are sadly not entirely accurate as the Burlington built their own version with a steel 2 door cabinet enclosed in one end bulkhead. This I presume was used to house load restraints and securing equipment not needed for that particular load. One wonders how much of that gear was stolen from cars in yards?
Shorty and 50ft airslides were in use, so they are included. Next will be Gondolas.
For those interested Searchlight Simulations do a CBQ 3 bay 100t hopper which is as near as any. The Burlington used 4 bay Quad hoppers, a model of which RRMods did in BN liveries but have since wihdrawn it as it is not on their site. Until someone brings out or restores to the game a Quad hopper the SS/JR hopper is a good substitute.

EDIT: Fool that I am, the Soldier Summit 100ton Hoppers are Quads! Onwards and upwards.

Gondolas. Most of the CB&Q 40ft Gons that I have found details of were wood bodies with steel frames and had been taken out of service by the end of the 1950s so I haven't bothered with them. Here are 52ft 6 and 65ft versions with loads Again I have used Great Northerner models as the base and for the loads.

Looking good, John, I am awaiting patiently your gems.
Since you are dwelling in the wonderful repainting world, may I suggest that you could indulge in a new pack - the Milwaukee Road for pipping pass route.

For me, I still have not found a solution to error no.75 !!!

Hi Bernard
I've kept out of the error 75 debate as it is not in my realm of experience, expertise and fortunately not in my suffering. I do however sympathise as TS tools is such an important and useful aid that I don't know how to manage without it.
Milwaukee stock - I'll certainly have a look although I am a bit concerned as to just how much can be covered with "standard" items compared to how much (a lot) was "homemade". However on the basis something looking like although second best is better than nothing at all...................

100 Ton Quad Hoppers with Coal, Aggregate, Dark Aggregate, Limestone and Sand loads. The Gons and these hoppers forwarded to RWA library. That's all for now folks.
