DSGDDR just released his Santa Fe 2900s series locomotive and a Super Chief set on his website (scroll down and it needs the California Zephyr set to use).

I hope he someday releases his C&O Hudson he was working on. Its great to have more steam locos!

I had help from this group of amazing people: Isaac Richardson (Rocketstephen), Korbin Gorka (Trapt_card), Mike Kam (Fan Railer), James Merlano (CarterTheWolf), Jonathan Peters (BigJ), Jacoob Taylor (ShadowSteel18), Daniel Gilliam (SirReginalLeeIV), Logan Thurman (LoganTMT), Tyren Jackson (Dondo Mizuru Rose), William Kesler (HoboJoe1218).

Please, no S1, a T1 or Q2 will be a much better choice, as these locomotives were built in numbers while the S1 was a white elephant.

The locomotive doesn't come with a manual, and she is oil fired.
Raise the stack extension, leave the burner on while running, use the injector at regular intervals. There are lots of switches, levers, hand wheels, angle c0cks, on the backhead and all over the cab, it really is a well made model.
So far, I haven't found 2900 to be a particularly strong puller, barely able to start the provided Super Chief up the 1.4% at Raton station platform.
She requires a high cut off, and almost full throttle to get the train moving, but perhaps I am doing it all wrong or have forgotten to release the hand brake or some lever here or there.
But for a free DLC, this is excellent quality.

I am having the same issues with power as well. Most anything over 1.5% and 15 freight cars is a struggle and it spins the drivers quite easily. I have noted that it does keep steam pressure nicely even with the reverser in the corner. A manual would be nice. Buzz helped me to turn the cab lights on. Thank you for this Darlan.
Reached almost 70 with 35 cars on a .4% grade.

Is there a way to copy the simulation over from the smokebox FEF (possibly editing it for these locomotives particularities, using other sounds like dynamo, air compressors, maybe a quilling whistle )? The 2 are large 80 inch diver oil burning 4-8-4s, I don't think they are that different from each other as far as how they handle. They also share a very similar feedwater heater, engineer injector setup.
Very well done model otherwise!

T1 is in the works, but it will be a little while. There is also a J1 down the line too. No word on a Q2.
He's trying to expand his horizons with different steam locomotives from different companies, so the PRR stuff he already has started has shuffled around a bit.

Turn the turret valve (top center) all the way open. It makes a difference. Reached almost 70 with 50 cars on a .4% grade.
Turret valve? Doesn't that supply steam to the auxiliary equipment, train heat line etc? The steam to the cylinders is regulated by the regulator, unless an error has been made in the simulation.

I am not really sure. I tried everything to get more power. This is just one of the adjustments I have made.
