This model represents the 5161 cu. ft. cylindrical covered hopper manufactured by TrinityRail beginning in 1996. Three versions are provided, a "generic" version suitable for repainting (reporting mark GNRX), and two examples of finished repaints (ADMX and CP Rail, shown in the screen shots). The original versions of this model appear in the Hi Line and Hanover route packages, both of which are available on Steam.

Source files in PSD format are included for some of the key textures, including the main body and the road numbers. Unlike the commercial version of this hopper, there are no decals. The body textures are 2048x2048 which is a suitable resolution for hand lettering and for painting things like logos. This gives you complete control over the layout and content of the car lettering. Weathering layers are included, the intensity of which you can increase or decrease as you please--or you can make your own.

GeoPcDx files are also included, one with the standard dynamic number positioning on the left side of the car when you face either side, and one with the numbers at the same end. The latter will allow you to paint "wraparound" schemes with a color variation at one end. The dynamic number nodes support up to six digits.

Detailed instructions and painting tips can be found in the download package's readme file.

Now in the File Library. Have fun repainting. As you can see, I already have!

Thank you for these Rick. Already swapped the ADM car into some Hanover scenarios - car looks great. I can think of at least 20 reporting marks so looking for repainters to jump in using the templates you so gratefully provided.

Very nice model. I can see the Big 4 being represented well with this railcar. Also I can see CSX's Grain Express reskin with this model too.

@buzz456: Good job on the reskins!

CSX versions are already included with the Hanover Subdivision. Although a Grain Express reskin seems like it would fit right in. *!!wink!!*

Which one are you talking about Tony? Is there another. This one is in the CSX route.

Nice work G-Trax. If you don't mind, I'll send over a patch that adds the Searchlight Simulations/Jointed Rail bogie sounds which also are included with the Bethgons. I also noticed a missing audio issue on the CP cars and fixed that as well.

A noodle hopper? Can you send that one round by my house please, I'm hungry.

Seriously though: these are some remarkable repaints that are in the works here. Many thanks to all who are creating -- and to Rick for publishing the model and repaint kit! !*salute*!

Cheers,
Michael
